Children: There are several inconsistencies in records;

Colt, Abel or Allen, b 1769, m. Mary Webster, and had children, Chloe, Abel, Jun. and Amos (assume Abel Jun. is Abel Allen Jr)
From the Webster Family genealogy:
Mary Webster, b. Dec. 21, 1768, at Harwinton, Ct., m.
Allen Colt, b. March 4, 1769, son of Jonathan Higley and Mary
(Tuttle) Colt, of Torrington and Harwinton, Ct. Jonathan Hig-
ley Colt was the son of John, the son of Jabez Colt of Windsor,
(1715) Ct.*
From “The Descendants of William and Elizabeth Tuttle”: Abel Allen married Polly Webster, 1) Abel 2) Polly 3) Nancy and others
CHILDREN: (Colt) Chloe, probably mar. Ephriam Cleveland,
and died prior to 1882. Laura, Allen, Mary, residence in 1882,
Canada. Harry, Canada. Nancy, Wis. Martin, went South and
died prior to 1882.
Based on census info, he had 3 sons and 2 daughters born between 1790 and 1800, 1 son and 2 daughters born between 1800 and 1810, so a minimum of eight children. The only two consistent children are Chloe and Abel Allen Jr. Seven children are listed in the Webster Genealogy

Death: by 1820 (no longer in census, wife Polly is listed as head of household)

1800 Litchfield Co, Harwington, CT:
3 males under 10 (Allen, Truman & ?), 1 male 26-44 (Allen Sr.), 2 females under 10 (Chloe and Laura), and 1 female 26-44 (Polly)
A 1st cousin once removed to Samuel Colt, the inventor of the Colt revolver (Samuel’s grandfather, Benjamin, was Abel Allen’s uncle)
