A Beloit man was found dead in his apartment Sunday morning by his landlord, who went to the room to visit him.
Arthur L. Miller, 56, of 339 Locust St. was pronounced dead at the scene by County Coroner Richard McCaul.
McCaul ruled the death ” a suicide as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.” He said death occurred sometime Saturday evening.
Revolver Found
Beloit police were called at 10:45 a.m. Sunday to investigate after being notified by Lafe Strand, owner of the building, who lives downstairs. Strand said he went to the room a short time earlier and received no answer when he knocked on the door. He opened the door and discovered Miller’s body.
Officers found Miller on a bed in the apartment. A 22-caliber revolver was found near the body. Five unspent shells were still in the weapon. He had been shot in the right temple.
