I started researching my family in 1998, and has been my passion ever since. I hope you can find some information to connect my family to yours. It's always nice to meet new cousins!

Rememberance from Marie Sweeney Quisling (niece):
Hannah was about 9 years older than Mary (my mother) and was born in Ireland near Galway, probably near Headford. (neither of these can be verified at present). She had diptheria when they lived on a farm near the Johnny Cruse family of Stebbinsville (near Stoughton WI). Doctors said she would not make it with that “membrane in her throat”. Grandma took a quill from a chicken, dipped it in vinegar and painted the throat and the vinegar loosened the membrane which grandma peeled out. Hannah lived to the age of 82. Hannah wanted to become a nun but her mother didn’t think that a good life for her, so Hannah said she’d marry the 1st man who asked her, and she did - James G. Mullowney, almost 20 years her senior. They had Michael & 5 children so she lived a rugged life caring for inlaws too. Of course his inlaws were able to take care of themselves, except when they were ill. Hannah was always saying her “beads” (rosary) and reading her prayer book. She had a warm personality and liked to mimic Zazu Pitts (actress) and other people - did it well. She lived with us in her late years and until she was 73 and used to look for Wileman’s Road Crew. I helped her one summer when they were working on Highway 51 near Edgerton. The “house on wheels” was parked on 51 where the school house stands near the golf course. Was an education for me - made me sure I’d go on to school!
