From the Sheboygan Press, April 9, 1956:
Henry Veldboom, 74, of Oostburg, died Saturday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Claerbout, Town of Holland.
He was born April 18, 1881 in the Town of Lima, and on Nov. 4, 1903, married Miss Lizzie Klompenhouwer. The couple settled and lived in the Town of Wilson until the fall of last year when they moved to Oostburg. Mr Veldboom engaged in farming and also carpentry.
He is survived by his wife, five sons, Herbert, Edwin and Lewis of Oostburg, Oscar of Cedar Grove, and Austin of Hudsonville, Michigan, four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Ida) Theune of Elkhart Lake, Mrs. John (Alice) Lammers of Brandon, Mrs. Delmar (Wilma) Claerbout of Oostburg, and Mrs. Howard (Ruth) TeStroete of Cedar Grove, 30 grandchildre, and a sister, Mrs. Peter Daane, of Brandon.
A son, Raymond, an infant daughter and three brothers preceded him in death. Burial will be made in Hartman Cemetery.
