Joanna Willis

Born: 26 Jul 1806, Norge (Norwich?) VT
Parents: John Flavel Willis (1784-1856) and Sarah/Sally Dana (1783-1842)
Siblings: Austin (1808), Sally (1811), Fanny (1813), John F. Jr. (1815), National Bartlett (1817-1826), Hannah (1819), Charles Ball (1822), Betsey (1824)
Marriage: to Harvey Tupper 9/12/1826, Parishville, NY. Joanna and Harvey moved to Ohio in 1834, then to Wisconsin in 1846.
Children: Oramel Ebenezer (1829), Nathan “Willis” (1830), Ansel (1832), Charles Perry (1835), Henry Newton (1837), Sara Dana (1839), Marcus De Lafayette (1845)
Death: About 1876, age 72, Adair County, Missouri. Joanna went with son Henry Newton and his family to Missouri in 1876. It is not known why Joanna went with Henry and left her husband behind. Their daughter, Sarah Tupper O’Brien was living in St. Louis Missouri and may have been going there. The couple was ederly by then and perhaps the family intended to split up caregiving duties. According to family legend and Harvey’s obituary, Joanna died shortly after arriving in Missouri.
