John Mares

Born: 10/15/1845  Stockton/Stuckton, Holland

 

Parents: Diedrick Mares and Mary unknown

 

Siblings: Peter (1837-1904),  Isadoras “Doras”

 

Note from Genevieve Mares July 1977:
Peter and John Mares first landed in Cedarburg. They married two sisters apparently in Cedarburg. John Mares came up first and built a log house. Peter built a log cabin on the next road.

 

Marriage:  to Applonia “Pluny” Gietzen 4/14/1869 (note: brother Peter married Pluny’s sister Barbara

 

Children: Anna,  Joseph,  John M.,  Michael,  John Jacob,  Joseph Charles,   Frank,  George,  Mary, Lorenz,  Rose, Doras, Louis

 

Death: 3/3/1918 Bear Creek, Waupaca Co, WI.  Buried St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bear Creek.  Died of septicemia (blood poisoning) from foot infection. Death certificate on file.
