Obituary:
Oostburg.- The funeral of Miss Mabel Janette Veldboom, 23, daughter of mr. and Mrs. John Veldboom, who passed away at 10 a.m. Tuesday at her home here, following a lingering illness, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the residence and at 1 o’clock at the Christian Reformed Church. Student Garret VanderZiel of Grand Rapid, MI will officiate and interment will be in Union Cemetery. Miss Veldboom was born October 22, 1908, on a farm two miles north of the village. She attended the local school and was graduated with the 1926 class. Previous to her illness she was employed at the local telephone exchange. The young woman was a member of the Christian Regormed church and also the Priscilla society. She is survived by her parents and three brothers, Gordon, Eugene and Ellsworth. She had a large circle of friends.
