Miss Irene Reinert, who was the society editor and in the business managing department of the Sheboygan Daily Journal for thirteen years , left this morning for Detroit, Michigan, where she will visit until Monday. On monday evening Miss Reinert will preceed to New London, Conn., where she will be met by her fiance, W.W. Jagger. The wedding will take place immediately.
Article from the Sheboygan Press June 22, 1917:
Miss Metta Irene Reinert and William Wallace Jagger were united in marriage Tuesday evening, June 19 at the parsonage of the Federal St. Methodist church at New London, Conn. at 9 o’clock, the Rev. C. Harley performing the ceremony. The couple was unattended and the Methodist ring ceremony was used. The bride was very attractive in a navy blue suit of French serge with white georgette waist with freanch valenciennes lace trimmings. She wore a white picture hat and white shoes, and her flowers were a corsage bouquet of orchids and lillies of the valley. Mr. and Mrs. Jagger left Wednesday morning for East Marion, NY, for a few days honeymoon amd will reside at New London, Conn. For the present they are guests at the Mohican Hotel. The bride is a graduate of the Waldo high school with the class of 1902 and of the Sheboygan Business College in 1904. For thirteen years she was at the head of the bookkeeping department and the Society Editor of the Sheboygan Daily Journal. She was an ardent member and worker of the First Methodist Episcopal Church here for several years, president of the Priscilla Society, and secretary and treasurer of the Mispah Sunday school class of the ME church. During her residence here up to a week ago. the bride was one of the popular young women of the city. Her popularity was marked with the many prenuptial and social functions given in her honor after her engagement had been announced. The groom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Eugene Jagger, was born in Orient, NY, where he attended school. He is a machinist by trade and for twelve years has been employed in the Brown Cotton Gin Company.
