Marriage: to Mary E. (Eliza) Reynolds 9/28/1848 Smyrna, NY (COLT, Stephen F, 43, of Smyrna, was married to REYNOLDS, Mary E, 29, of Smyrna, on Sept. 28, 1848 by Rev. Comfort Record, Smyrna, NY) Note: ages listed do not match, Stephan should be 27, Mary 18 or 19.

From an article in the Janesville Gazette 9/6/1888:
News was received here last week of the death of Stephan Colt. The sad event occured at the home of his sister (Mary Jane), who resides in Scott, Sheboygan, CO. where he had been since June and most of the time ill. Deceased was a resident of this village for 30 years or more, leaving here last spring to become an inmate of the Soldiers Home at Milwaukee.
Enlisted 10/7/1861 as a private in the Civil War. Served in K Company, 13th Infantry, mustered out 11/18/1864. Pension claim was filed as an invalid.
In his pension claim he states he is unable to work half the year. He may have developed asthma, and his wife died of consumption (TB). he may have contracted that in the war and brought it home to his wife.
